Wellsville, UT (July 29, 2021) – Authorities have released the identity of the woman who died in a car accident on Wednesday, July 28th. Reports show that 69-year-old Janice W. Bradshaw, a resident of Wellsville, was killed when she was believed to have lost control of her vehicle and spun out into oncoming traffic.

An official with the Utah Highway Patrol said that, at about 4:50 p.m., Bradshaw was driving a Honda Accord northbound on US-89/91 in the area of the American West Heritage Center when she is believed to have attempted to pass a truck towing a trailer in the inside lane.

As Bradshaw maneuvered around the truck she most likely drove through standing water on the highway, causing her car to hydroplane and slide across the roadway into oncoming traffic where it was hit by an oncoming Dodge pick-up truck.

Troopers said that Bradshaw was properly restrained but was most likely killed instantly during the impact. She was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Thunderstorms and heavy downpours were reported at the time of the accident.

The occupants of the pick-up truck sustained non-critical injuries during the crash.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mrs. Janice W. Bradshaw, at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

This sort of vehicle crash has the highest odds of leaving its victims facing severe or even mortal injuries. The measure of force that is usually created during this type of accident is great and the primary reason that head-on crashes made up about 30% of all fatal traffic crashes in 2017.
