Tooele, UT (February 28, 2021) – One person died on Saturday, February 27th after their vehicle collided with a truck carrying five occupants near Tooele causing the area to be shut down for about four hours.
Reports state that at about 9:00 p.m., a Dodge Ram pick-up truck was traveling southbound on State Route 36 when, due to winter weather conditions, the driver lost control of the truck, overcorrected, and skidded sideways into oncoming traffic, t-boning a blue Ford F-150 with five occupants near milepost 60.
The driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead on the scene.
The male driver and one female passenger in the Ford were transported to an area hospital, both in critical condition. The three remaining occupants were all children who sustained injuries classified as non-life-threatening.
