Taylorsville, UT (October 30, 2021) – Two teenagers are hospitalized in critical and extremely critical condition after they were struck by a car while trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 30th in Taylorsville.
Officers responded to reports of two teenage pedestrians being hit by a sedan at about 7:00 p.m. near the intersection of 6375 South and 2700 West.
Sources reported that four teenagers were crossing the street inside of a marked crosswalk when two of them were struck by a vehicle. The injured trick-or-treaters were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital in life-threatening conditions.
The two other teens were not hit by the vehicle and were completely unharmed.
An adult male, an adult female, and a baby were in the sedan. The driver is cooperating with the police.
It is too early in the investigation to determine if speed or impairment were factors in the accident.
The area will be shut down for a few hours as investigators reconstruct the crash and continue to investigate.
