St. George, UT (September 17, 2021) – Police were called to the scene when two children were hit by a truck while they were out riding a scooter on Thursday, September 16th.

St. George Police first responded near the intersection of 3130 Sout and 2880 East in St. George.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a truck had crashed into the two children.  

The victims have been identified as a 6-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.

An investigation determined that the driver of the truck was heading northbound on 2880 East when he struck the children as they crossed the intersection.

The children were riding together on a stand-up scooter when they were hit.

Both victims were taken by ambulance to local hospitals for emergency treatment. They are currently in stable condition.

The truck driver was unharmed and cooperated with police during the investigation. Driver impairment is not a factor.

This accident is under investigation by the St. George Accident Reconstruction Team.
