Vehicle manufacturers have long been aware that some of the automobiles they produce have a high center of gravity because they are top-heavy and, therefore, prone to rolling over during accidents and certain other scenarios. In many instances, rollovers are the result of tire blowouts.
In other situations, a vehicle’s high center of gravity, a badly designed suspension system, and brakes insufficient for its size can contribute to or cause a rollover accident. In a rollover collision, a vehicle flips over on its roof or side. Rollover accidents often take place when a driver overcorrects after dodging something in the roadway or because of a sudden, unexpected stop. Rollover accidents can also be caused by problems with the vehicle’s tires.
If you were injured as a passenger in a rollover crash, the law entitles you to financial compensation for your injuries. This is true even if the driver is a good friend, coworker, or member of your household.
