Auto Accidents in Utah

Due to the fact that Utah is a no-fault insurance state, you are only able to file a claim against the other driver’s insurance if you have:

      • Hospital/medical bills totaling at least $3,000
      • A major injury
      • 49% or less of the accident assigned to you

Before filing a claim with the other driver’s insurance for help with medical bills and lost income, you must first file a claim with your personal injury protection insurance. Where property damages are involved, however, you can file a claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance immediately.

The intricate rules that govern insurance claims in Utah can be confusing, especially when you are shaken up by a serious accident. Our experienced Utah personal injury attorneys are ready to help you know your rights and understand your options.
