Morgan Co, UT (August 09, 2021) – Officials from Morgan County have released the name of the motorcycle rider who was killed on the afternoon of Saturday, August 7th following an accident in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the deceased has been identified as 67-year-old Christopher Anderson, a resident of Salt Lake City.
A volunteer firefighter also sustained non-critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital for treatment.
According to a statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at about 3;25 p.m. when a group of motorcycles was riding eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 94. For reasons that have yet to be determined, a black Harley Davidson ridden by Anderson was forced into a cable barrier at a sharp bend in the road.
Anderson was transported by paramedics to a local hospital where he died following surgery.
Mountain Green volunteer fire and EMS personnel on Engine 131 responded to the scene, along with Paramedic Rescue 5 from Ogden.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Christopher Anderson, at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
Severe injuries, such as a traumatic brain injury or even wrongful death, can stem from a serious motorcycle crash, particularly when another motor vehicle is involved. This is due to the fact that motorcycles do not provide their riders with any of the safety features that the occupants of passenger vehicles routinely take for granted, like seat belts, a roll cage, and airbags, leaving riders exposed to serious internal injuries, as well as injuries to their brain and spinal cord.
A motorcycle accident attorney who has experience dealing with motorcycle accidents will know how to reduce its adverse influence on your life.
