Lehi, UT (October 23, 2022) – A 20-year-old woman was killed during a collision with a Lehi City fire truck on Friday, October 21st.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash at about 12:45 p.m. in the area of the Interstate 15 interchange of State Route 92.

According to sources, a Lehi fire engine was heading westbound on the interstate, responding to a call with its sirens and lights on.

As the fire truck neared the I-15 interchange, it T-boned a Chevy Spark exiting the southbound off-ramp.

The Spark’s driver, a 20-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several firefighters sustained non-critical injuries.

The area was closed for almost five hours as UHP investigated.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

Intersection Accidents in Utah

If you were injured in an accident at a Utah intersection, it is in your best interest to speak with a Utah intersection accident lawyer as soon as possible. The personal injury attorneys at Jardine Law Offices have successfully represented clients in all kinds of traffic accident cases.

Although stop lights and stop signs exist for a reason, many drivers still choose to ignore them. They are designed to control the traffic flow and keep people safe. Drivers have a responsibility to follow driving laws to protect themselves and others from unnecessary harm.

Sadly, many drivers are often in a hurry to get where they are going or do not have their full focus on the road. No matter their reason for disregarding lights or signage, they can cause serious accidents. If two vehicles collide as a result of this kind of negligence, it can cause catastrophic injuries and death.

Generally, the driver who entered the intersection at a red light or without stopping at a stop sign is liable for the crash and injured victims are entitled to sue for damages. With the aid of an experienced intersection accident attorney, the injured party will be able to recover damages for hospital bills, lost income, and property damage.
