Lehi, UT (March 04, 2022) – Two teenagers were taken to a hospital on Friday, March 4th after they were struck by a car at a crosswalk in Lehi.

According to sources, the teens were hit by a man driving a Chrysler 300 eastbound on 2100 North in the area of 3600 West at about 4:30 p.m.

Both victims were knocked 100 feet into the grassy median between the westbound and eastbound lanes.

The 13-year-old was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The 15-year-old was transported by Life Flight.

Impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in Utah

According to Utah law, vehicles are required to yield the right of way to pedestrians. If you have been hurt in a pedestrian accident, it is important that you obtain medical treatment even if you think your injuries are insignificant. For the benefit of not only your health but the legitimacy of your claim as well, don’t delay seeing a doctor or going to the emergency room.

Once your injures have been medically attended to, you must be sure that you understand all of your legal options. In many cases, your claim will be filed against the driver of the car that struck you. You can, however, also bring a claim of personal injury against the city where the accident occurred if it involved a faulty stoplight or a hazardous roadway.

While Utah’s traffic and negligence laws offer pedestrians legal protection, even if they are partly at fault, there are numerous legal snares that can hurt your case. For example, if the driver alleges that you were jaywalking, you could lose your case against them.

Pitfalls like this are why it is vital that you work with a dependable attorney who is able to ensure that your case cannot be refuted by the opposing party.
