Centerville, UT (October 13, 2022) – A woman died during an apartment fire on Wednesday, October 12th in Centerville.  

The Centerville Fire District responded to the apartment complex in the 80th block of West 50th South at about 7:45 p.m. for reports of a structure fire.

CFD dispatched 22 firefighters. Upon their arrival, they observed fire and smoke arising from both the back and front of the complex.

In spite of the crews’ fast action and containment, one unit sustained heavy damage and several others were damaged by smoke. Residents of the affected apartments are currently displaced.

CFD also disclosed that they located the body of an adult female during a search of the area. 

At this time, the cause of the fire and the victim’s identity are unknown.
